PAXoutof10: Indie MEGABOOTH reveals games
Undoubtedly, my highlight of PAX East 2012 was the Indie MEGABOOTH, a brilliant collection of some of the most daring and intriguing independent developers — all coming together to show off their games and nab exposure amidst a sea of so-called “AAA” games. The booth was such a hit that it returned for PAX Prime 2012, nearly doubling the amount of developers and games showcased. It’s no surprise then, that it’s back for PAX East 2013 and bigger than ever!
The Indie MEGABOOTH will feature over 50 developers and 62 games on display. Titles range from the absolutely charming Don’t Starve, the ingeniously named Octodad Dadliest Catch, and the high-flying Luftrausers, among many others. New to the celebration of all games indie is the Indie MINIBOOTH, a subsection featuring a rotating lineup of seven developers, all hoping to let eager PAX-goers get hands-on with their titles. It’s a great way to let even the most independent of game-creators a chance to let their ideas loose on the public!
Speaking of PAX East 2013, I’ll be there reporting from the show for AWESOMEoutof10! If you have some time, take a gander at the titles on display, both at the Indie MEGABOOTH and the expo hall at large — let me know what you’d like to see covered! After all, we’re all about serving our loyal community. I’ll be taking photos, doing interviews, playing games and writing up previews throughout the weekend, as well as getting completely drunk in the evenings.
It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.
So stay tuned, guys. PAX East is coming and we’ll be bringing you as much of the action as possible!
